Woke up at 4:30 am and took my eldest to the buses. Today is the regional regatta's so later we will be driving up there to watch her row. She has been so amazing on her team. I know she is my daughter, but she is one of the three top rowers in novice. I am not sure how well she will do in Varsity. She will be in Varsity next year.
We then proceeded to take my mother and crazy cousin to the airport . They're returning in July. She then returns back in December. I am trying to convince her to come with me to London next year. I think she would really love the Victoria and Albert Museum and shopping for fabric at Liberty. She however is getting old and it might take a lot out of her to get around such a large and busy city. I just have a few more places to visit and then I would like to move on to Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Russia. I will have then completed my European bucket list.
My twinzies are taking a bath. I wish I could enjoy bathing as much as they do. Sitting in water that is dirty is just not my cup of tea. My spouse has just finished mowing the weeds in the front. The tree is so large out front we are not able to grow grass. What we have instead is weeds. I can't wait to leave this house. It drives me crazy. The sounds echoing because of the tile and the lack of backyard. I am sad because it will be years before we can get out of this place.
Two more weeks of school. The last weeks of school are horrible. Its the end of year banquet for rowing, discipleship group, and the museum. It's the recorder concert, the year end parties, etc. Its chaos and then begins swim team. Summer is just less busy.
The weather turned from a week of beautiful spring weather to now high eighties and nineties and its still May. Not happy at all about this climate change. We are in for a hot hot hot summer and without a pool too. Might as well buy a inflatable hot tub and throw it in on the deck downstairs. What else does one do without a pool ? Buy a small flat in Canada ?
I am currently reading "Warmth of Other Suns" by Isabella Wilkerson and listening to the BBC podcasts of BBC Radio 4 In Our Time Culture. I love it for the variety of topics which of course include art history . My kids are amazed how much I enjoy learning about art. Being a docent has been a true blessing ,,,,there are many things to be grateful for. Twice people have visited me and said that I have been blessed with so much. I think they're right....
