Day 19 and 20...Lawrence Amy, say what ?

Day 19
I flew back to the UK and was delighted to not have to be harassed in customs !  I just walked right to my driver. Except, when I got to the drivers...there wasn't a driver who had a sign that said "Gretchen Amy". However, there was a driver who had a sign that said " Lawrence Amy". Um, how cool was that ? I have never met a stranger with the last name Amy. I asked the driver if that was supposed to be for me and he said no. Lawrence Amy had not arrived. So, I walked further out to the exit and no sign that said Gretchen Amy. So, I went back and said "Are you going to GX?" and he said "no". Well, my driver was sitting down in a chair next to him holding my sign reading the freaking paper. I was just a weee bit ticked off. I should have waited for Mr. Amy to arrive, but there was no time. I found him on Facebook, but he has never replied to my note...probably thinks I am totally weird. Crazy old American lady with the last name Amy !

It's a Tuesday and Cook has the day off from her art classes. She asked me what I wanted to do to celebrate my birthday. I thought what I had really craved was an ice cream sundae from Harrods. You know, not your typical sundae. I am sure it costed 30 dollars and the diet coke $10, but  it was worth the experience. The only thing that ruined it was some guy came and sat next to me that wasn't wearing deo ! Crap what is it about Europeans smelling nasty ? How could anyone tap into that ? I am fat and hideous  but at least I make huge attempts to smell good ! We did some more shopping after that and then I returned back to GX .
Day 20
It was a gloomy day, but never the less Mrs. F and I went to the Cotswolds. I would say out of my entire experience in England, the Cotswolds were on my top 5 places I thought were really cool. First we went to the village of Burford. We visited a church and then went for lunch at a pub. Later we went shopping and then went to Swindon to see where the Mitford sisters were buried. Mrs. F has introduced to the Mitford Sisters and now I am obsessed with them  ! Well, not obsessed, but they did lead fascinating lives. Lives I certainly wouldn't lead, but they were certainly involved in the history of the UK in WWII. I read a book about the sisters in general and now I am going to read book about the letters they wrote to each other.  I then get to read individual books about all of them. Then what ? I'll be an expert on the Mitford family...oh the places that is going to take me ! A lot of people are "into" them, so I am thinking it would take me nowhere... I just looked back and realized I missed an entire day in Ireland, but I think we are pretend that did not happen. However, it was a nice day, and maybe later I can edit this whole dang blog and put it in there...pictures and all ! ADHD SUCKS !!
