Day 17 and 18

Day 17
Shipped gifts back to the US
Went to a rather cheap department store for gloves and leggings.
Went back to Cork's City Hall to see the children perform in their violin recital. I was really impressed and if I could only encourage my girls to play violin !!
Went to dinner for authentic Italian Food.
Day 18....Did I mention it was my birthday ?
Woke up early in the morning.
Boarded a train to Dublin, Ireland
Arrived in Dublin and met up with Berns Mom and Sister ( LOVE THEM)
Took a bus tour of Ireland
Visited:
St. Patrick's Cathedral
Dublin Castle-had tea
Had lunch in shopping district.....
Molly Malone: The Tart with the Cart ....she even has a song !

In Dublin's fair city,
Where the girls are so pretty,
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone,
As she wheeled her wheel-barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"
"Alive, alive, oh,
Alive, alive, oh",
Crying "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh".
She was a fishmonger,
But sure 'twas no wonder,
For so were her father and mother before,
And they each wheeled their barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"
(chorus)
She died of a fever,
And no one could save her,
And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone.
Now her ghost wheels her barrow,
Through streets broad and narrow,
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"

Trinity University: Saw the famous " Book of Kells"
Guinness Brewery

Then it was back to Cork...what a fabulous birthday !!!

Oh... on Day 15 I bought a sweater in a coastal town called Kinsale. It's a blue cardigan. It's not the sweater of my dreams, but close enough.....
