Gretchie Love via Gerrards Cross

Spent yesterday hanging around Gerrards Cross. First Mr. F and I had breakfast. We had crossiants and then she opened her birthday gifts. I had bought her a card at Waddesdon and some chocolate from Cron & Lanz. This lady is really loved. She got gifts, lots of cards, and tons of telephone calls all day long. She left the house for 20 minutes and the phone rang 3 times. My phone never rings that much. How could someone on earth be more popular than I am ? Perhaps when I am 72 I will have as many fans as she does ?
We walked to downtown and did a little shopping. I bought a card and she got some meds. We then went to a shop...it was so EVIL.  It had the nicest gifts and decor. Things that I could never find in the states. I wanted the whole store !! Even the owner was really nice. I told her I was an anglophile....now I am wondering if she thought I meant a pedophile ? Wouldn't that be horrible ?? I plan to go back and if I have any money left I am going to buy some more pictures.

I cleaned my room up and then we went to London. We had drinks at the Oxford and Cambridge Club. The only thing I could think it reminded me of was Jeeves and Wooster. Bertie Wooster was always going to a gentlemans club. It reminded me of a hotel. It was beautiful with lovely paintings of some famous members. The seats were of course red leather and beautiful wood. Even the bathrooms were lovely. I had some Diet Cokes and sat with Mrs. F, Julia and Little F's friend Lou. I had heard so much about her from Little F I was excited to meet her. You just don't normally sit at a table with a PR extraordinare, a former employee of  the House of Parliment and a Vicar. Who happened to sing at Madonna's wedding and was asked by Sting to sing at his castle in Scotland.  Lou has quite the extraordinary life...well they all do !!  There I am a dull and boring blogger....lots of stories to tell, but none as exciting as theirs. I suppose if I had gone to Oxford or Cambridge I might have a more exciting life. I was so grateful to be invited  !

Lou departed and then we went to a fabulous restaurant in Shepards Gate. I had lamb and potatoes. We drank sparkling water and sat by some 20ish people from France. I love how the French are sterotypically unshaven under the arms and smell of body oder...and yet they are snobby. Seriously ? Paris is crap..it is loaded with tourists and gypsy people roaming the streets pick pocketing and scamming people. I'm sorry but I see no beauty in that. Who charges 11 euro for a freaking Diet Coke and it's refills ? Oh btw those are the reasons I can't stand Paris. Parisians also stare....seriously if it were not for the back up of Alikona I would I have thought myself insane. They stare and other Americans will tell you they stare too.

different Hoover...
Today I am spending my day at the house. I am currently hoovering Mrs F's house. She really does not need it Hoovered, but I feel like I am contributing to my stay. I am trying to spare my money for some other things to do. So, I am going to read books and drink Diet Coke to my hearts content.
I am still missing Germany and fam. I am just grateful to be here and to be able to share the experience with my kids. Hopefully, it will inspire to travel and be curious why my sister and I are such sick Anglophiles.
