Day 1: Arrived at Penn Station. Stood in line waiting for a cab. I asked Rah Rah what she thought of it so far. She told me that it was really yellow due to the cabs. Arrived and checked our luggage in early at the Manhattan Club Hotel. Walked to the American Girl Store and FAO Schwartz. We picked up some doll clothes, and I got The William and Kate Barbie Dolls.
 |
Okay, if I am Kate who will be play with William ?? |
Now I can play Barbies and pretend that I am Kate and I am marrying Prince William in Westminster Abbey. We went back to the hotel and had Subway for dinner. I was happy to learn that my daughter has no clue about fashion. We walked by all the high end stores and she had no idea what any of them are. Truly, I hate to say it, but it was tiny little Asians carrying all the bags. Odd seeing a man carrying a Chanel bag on 5th Avenue.

I love this picture of us ! |

Reunited !! |
Day 2: Walked for 20 minutes trying to find the CVS store. We found it, had some breakfast and checked out of the hotel. We got a cab, and decided it was cheaper to take a ferry instead of a cab. Why to I fear such things ??? We found Sabs Condo and finally got to see Little F and Shal. I was so happy to see their girls, but within one year they have changed. They are now into boys, fashion and makeup. Wonder if that will ever happen to Rah Rah ?
 |
Okay, now I can say I have been there.... |
We went to Hoboken, New Jersey and visited the bake shop of "Cake Boss". Hoboken is a very cute city and it has a lovely train station. Carlos Bakery was okay. I wasn't in love with the cupcake that I bought. I was also not in love with the brownie either. It wasn't packed, and it wasn't that impressive. We took the light rail back to the Condo and then went on to NYC.
 |
These guys were in front of the Cake Boss Bakery. Super nice guys and the one on the right He went to Annapolis...but again, I could be his mom !! |
 |
I could pretty much be their mother |
 |
Could I look fatter ? Could this guy be a bigger asshole ?? |
 |
These Men were from Finland....Love the guy in the back ! |
We visited Time Square...Um..did I mention it was fleet week ?? Yes, for a few hours I just took pictures of the Armed Forces. They all wanted me, but I declined, I could have been their mother. They were all out for Liberty, all nicely dressed, good behavior, but they all smoked !! Blah !
Day 3: Bus Tour of NYC and more shopping. Later the ladies watched a play and the girls watched a Broadway show.
I met up with my long time friend Eric. He took me to dinner and then to a bar in Hells Kitchen. I miss my friend Eric. We talked about moving to Europe and where we would like to live. He picked Germany and I picked a southern village in Italy. I have never been to Italy, but I love the food, and I have not seen a picture of Italy that I didn't like. The roads, the colors, the country side. The rustic appeal is so romantic in my mind. I of course would want a vespa to travel to town !
Rah rah got to meet her first movie star " Raven Simone". I loved it ! Sarah could care less about meeting her, and it was fantastic about all the media surrounding her coming out of the closet. Entertainment Weekly called her soon to be show "That's So Gayven".
 |
I had no idea Alice was in Central Park !! |
Day 4: Took the bus to downtown and then walked up to the Met through Central Park. I loved it ! It was beautiful ! I could have spent hours in there walking around !
 |
Cab O Rama |
The Met was cool. Unfortunately, I was not able to see as many exhibits that I wanted to. Rah Rah had no interests in the paintings that I was so privileged to view. What is wrong with her ? I am SOOO going back alone ! Anyway, I met up with my friend Janice and her family.

Drinking Frozen Hot Chocolate |
We hung out in the Park, went to the apple store to secretly charge my cellphone, and then met up again with friends to Serendipity 3.
 |
This was f''ing amazing !!!! |
The food was okay, but the dessert was FABULOUS !!!

Whatever a Navy Concert is... |
 |
I wish you could see the thrilled look in his face when I took this picture, he was not amused.. |

Day 5: It was a crappy day. I would use other adjectives, but my mother gets offended when I use them. We got up in the morning and took the bus to lower Manhattan. Shal decided that we would take the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty...after all it's free. Well I was ticked off at Shal for 4000 reasons and decided to walk off to blow off some steam. So, they went elsewhere and when we got off the boat they all went on the Ferry back. Well, I had no idea where this Ferry was and ended up stuck on Staten Island for 30 minutes. I took the ferry back and cried. Anyway, they wanted to walk the Brooklyn Bridge and I wanted to see the Tenement Museum. So, we get on the bus to go uptown and it turns out on the way there I discovered that the museum was sold out. So, we ended up going to Times Square again. We watched a "Sailor Concert". I spotted a Naval Officer and wanted to ask him if he had A) Gone to Annapolis and B) What this concert was all about. They were actually not that bad, but it was weird.

This did not happen to me in Times Square...
They were in uniform and I wondered if they did this as a career or did they just decide that is what they were doing for fun as a hobby. Anyway, the officer looked at me after snapping his photo and walked away. Well, at least he wasn't ticked I took his picture. We ate Chinese for dinner and left for the train station in the morning.

I am happy to be home with my kiddos and pets. I think they might have actually missed me this time.

You are amazing. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Loved all the pics of you with the military. Had started to think it was your nod to Memorial Day holiday, until you mentioned it was fleet week. Oh the life of Gretchielove.
