The King's Speech
So, T and I went to the movies tonight to watch "The King's Speech". I thought it was brilliant ! T said it was a "buddy movie". I agree, it at times was funny, serious, and heartfelt. I was amazed that I didn't cry, but it wasn't a tear jerking kind of movie. It made King George VI look like a man who took being a king very serious, but never the less a very humble man. One might say he became a humble man. You know I would do a really horrible job at movie reviews. Movies fit into four categories. #1 Movies that are so boring they put me to sleep. #2 Movies that are so bad that I can't wait until they are over.#3 Movies that I enjoy but I could handle just renting for at home use. #4 Movies that need to be seen at the theatre because of the special effects. I have decided that purchasing movies...well it's a little OTT. I think that if you like a movie so much that you want to see it over and over again then go and buy it. The Kings Speech is a movie that I will definitely purchase and it's historic.
I must say I adore this photo of the Queen Mother and Bertie. Her large hat , her corsage, and her pearls hanging from her neck. I wonder who she is looking at and who are those boys looking at ? How could anything else attract them more than the King and Queen of England ?
What else did I want to say ? T and I were the youngest people in the theatre. I have no idea why, but I don't believe that there was enough advertisement for it. Someone told me about this movie going to Paris on the chunnel. It deserved more. Well, if it wins an Oscar then people will take notice.

Sorry for being obtrusive , but i saw what i thought a review or so after i ran into your blog , just to see the picture :P any way i just saw the movie earlier today . I must say it was really impressive but the ending wasn't exactly what i've expected , to be honest a public speech , that's what i thought , after all this is more of a biographic type of movies.
But don't you think that a 12 Oscar-nominations is a little bit too much ?!
Thanks again , much luv
This is one of my favorite moveis of all time! I absolutely LOVE this movie and plan to take my 13 yr. old grandson to see it this week! I hope it wins all at the Oscars and I agree--it needs to be seen at the theatre.
