Yesterday was our test in our Health, Nutrition and Safety class. It was pretty easy...I was surprised. Anyway, we also made our teams for our daycare center project. I was excited because one of the centers was supposed to be in Berkeley. I love Berkeley, I want to go to Berkeley, and Berkeley is Eco Friendly. Thinking that EVERYONE wanted to be at the center I wanted...there were only three of us. I had this idea of a green school...well we all had the idea in mind. I was just surprised that nobody wanted to be a part of it. In fact this beautiful lady that sits next to us from England ( I swear she has an Australian accent like Nicole Kidman) got up and joined another group. I was a little hurt by that. I suppose its just what is going on in my head. Wanting to be Green and everyone else to be green as well. There is a green school in Manhattan New York. So, anyway I am excited....even if not everyone thinks I am crazy.
We got out of class early because of our test so I went to Whole Foods. I love Whole Foods, its clean, and I feel good about shopping there. I know that they sell stuff that is organic and my kids are going to be eating healthy fruit that is not contaminated by pesticides. So, I bring home blueberries and strawberries and Tom Freaked OUT. I got the lecture of my life. "Do you look at the prices"? " Do you know how bad the economy is"? If you don't watch how we spend our money we are going to be out on the street !!!
He was not happy when I told him I chose the regular bananas instead of the organic. I even told him I was willing to be vegetarian because free range chicken is so expensive. I guess I won't be coming home with a Whole Foods bag anytime soon :(
