So, Sunday I went to a Fundraiser for Hands of Love. I actually worked at it. I would rather volunteer working at something than having to surround myself with strangers any day. Generally, I find that the people who volunteer anywhere are the nicer and more fun. I can't say that about all organizations... Anyway, It was at this Polo Field. They had a wonderful shop of goodies from Uganda and then lunch and then a little history of the organization and THEN the polo match...

The organization Hands of Love supports children at an orphanage in Uganda. I have blogged about them before. I attended a bible study in my old neighborhood and met Pastor Elijah and his wife Ruth. They shared their story how the orphanage came about....and yes Uganda really needed it. They have so many orphans that they don't have room for them. Kids mostly of parents who contracted AIDS. That is not the case with all the children I am sure, but they need places to live and the orphanage is the place to go. So, being touched with the Pastors story we adopted Brian. Poor poor Brian, he is my neglected son in Africa. There are so many other couples who are really attached to their kids, but I am always dealing with my own kids I neglect Brian. Also, these families have $$$ to go to Africa (about 3K) so they have developed close relationships with these children. Anyway, really good organization and worth adding to your Ministry.
