M.Eugene is a high school friend and I really like his work....
My art is primarily conceptual. I work in varied mediums; sculpture, painting and most recently photography. My interests in anthropology and psychology, coupled with years working as a nurse in the clinical setting have given me a unique perspective on life, death and the human experience.

I push
myself to evolve new techniques and styles in my work through
traditional and nontraditional mediums and combinations of these. Non
traditional mediums such as spray paint and ink markers are relatively
new and artists have not had millenniums to evolve techniques with
them. I enjoy the greater possibilities in discovering new ground with
them.
While I have a wide variation in mediums and even technical approach a
personal style has evolved over time which binds the work together. I
hope to never stay static in my work and continue to grow.
While photography is relatively new to me as a medium this style and
creative approach is consistent in it. My choices in concepts and
methods of expressing them while exploring new aesthetic techniques is
the same. I was able to invest this last spring in better quality
camera and processing equipment and am in the process of establishing my
portfolio and evolving techniques.
There have been challenging times since leaving the relative financial
stability of health care to pursue my art. Even in the most difficult
times I have not considered turning back. I had earlier in life
experienced a sort of calling to work in the healing arts. I dedicated
myself and became a competent and recognized professional in the field.
I feel the same degree of calling and motivation towards my work in
visual/conceptual art.
M.Eugene currently resides in Hood River, Oregon
