"Annie" Jesus...

Unlike the last Jesus I posted this one is more playful...he looks happy....he looks like Annie.

Sorry, it's all I could see when looking at this redheaded family. Does every little girl with lovely red locks of hair remind me of her ? No, did he really have that red hair ? Did John the Baptist have red hair ? So, I am not saying this is an ugly picture of Jesus. I am not saying that this is a bizarre or creepy picture of him either. I am just writing that ....this isn't him.

This picture also hangs at the National  Gallery. The artist is unknown, but said to perhaps be a follower of Jacopo Pontormo. The picture reads in the back : The Infant Baptist, wearing a camel skin, appears behind the Virgin Mary and the child Jesus. This is likely to be a work of the second half of the 16th century by a Florentine artist who had revived Portormo's style.

I looked online to find other works by Jacopo Pontormo and came up with this... I am of course not an art historian . I was just trying to see the similarities.

If the National Gallery says that he's a follower or uses his style ..who am I to say they are wrong...right ?

I also took the picture and divided up into parts.  Yes, the middle one could be Mary, but the other ones...no. I wonder who modeled for these pictures ? I wonder what caused the painter to make look so feminine ? I also question if Mary had a richer color of robe on. Most portraits of Mary you will find her in rich deep colors. In any case...here is "Annie" Jesus.
