I have no idea what time I woke up, but the time change in my system was really messed up. I went upstairs to find that Sus had made some oatmeal with apples. Okay, I don't know if her children realize this, but Sus makes THE BEST FOOD. I know, it was something simple, but it was the best ! I can't remember what else was on the the table other than coffee, but I was in heaven. I don't say these flattering things to be nice, I really mean them because I am going to become uber wealthy and have Sus come here to cook for me once a month. I could again just move into the village in Germany ?
We then went on a walk through the forest of Gottingen. Sus told me it was rather cold outside and I might want to bring a scarf. I informed her that I sweat profusley during exercise and did not need one. She never the less pulled out a beautiful scarf and Jurg, Sus, and I went for a walk. It was beautiful walking through the forest. Gottingen forest might not be known in the world as the most beautiful place on earth, but I really like it. We walked to an animal park and saw the forest animals including wild boar. We passed a outdoor bar and then it was back into the village. I don't think she realizes that although I currently live in a home surrounded by trees...this is a German forest not some hoochy Atlanta forest. How much I would have loved to live there and walk thorough those to Gottingen everyday for a cup of java and a huge pretzel !
We returned and went to Duderstadt. Okay, I lived in Germany almost a year and this beautiful little city was not far from where I lived. I had never been there ! It's pretty much your typical fairy tale German city. It was a Sunday and generally Sundays are spend with shops closed. People I guess are expected to go to church. It turns out that Sus and I had sorta hit a festival. She had a friend/coworker working there at one of the booths for mentally disabled people. We walked around and did a little shopping. I bought a purse and little wallets for my girls. I also got them some candies.
Dead pig on a stake...got to have a picture of that... |
There were a lot of other things, but I don't know...I just can't buy everything that I see. Sus showed me some buildings with interesting architecture and carvings in the timber,
We later went home and I want to say we had enchiladas...but I am not sure, but it was a fun day !!! I went to bed pretty late and slept peacefully amongst my memories....
