Okay, after my paper sticking to my ass incident I thought...okay what is my ideal public bathroom. First of all, I have been in enough public bathrooms. My many tours of the US have brought me to some that ...well I had to turn around and find another one. My most favorite restroom ?
Nordstrom in San Francisco...why ? They are not separated by slabs of metal, they have no advertising on the door, they are individual, and they are well taken care of.
I took the girls into the restroom at The American Girl Store. Fabulous they have a holder for your dolls !
They also have a deodorizer when the toilet flushes ! I am actually bringing one of these when I got to NYC. You drop it in before you go, and when you flush...it flushes sweet smelling water. I find it a courtesy for my room mates of 3 nights !
I am also bringing a small can of Lysol spray, and what I really really need is a small thing of toilet paper , but I will bring tissue instead. These are things that I bring on my trips across the US. You have to be prepared for anything ! I have decided to collect pictures of restrooms for my blog...because...well nobody else does :)

When Darren and I took our trip across the USA in 1993, we contemplated authoring a coffee table photo book called "Pit Toilets Across America", being that we visited so many of them. They are far more disgusting than public restrooms, trust me. You could do something similar- there could be big money in this!!
