When in Rome.....

Yesterday totally boring....well until about 10:00 when I received a bunch of texts from friends.  I am always in bed at 8:30 these days. So, I was quite surprised to hear from people so late.  Today is another story.  Mar picked me up at 8:45 and we met some people from auction at "The Little Pear". Then we met at her house and went with some friends to the De Young Museum to see Van Gogh, Gaugin, Cezanne and other Post-Impressionist art. It was amazing ! I liked it even more than the Monet exhibit in Paris . It's sad though to see an art collection in San Francisco when I was in Paris last month and should have seen it there ! There was just not enough time to see museums. It's so surreal to see Starry Night and just stare...like that can't really be a Van Gogh . Perhaps to me it's the way the art pieces are represented. I am not sure what I should expect from a museum...but I am not particularly fond of the presentation.  It's also really hard to see these exhibits, there were so many people and the paintings were so close together.  I remember going to the Andy Warhol exhibit in L.A and that seemed perfect for me.  This time though, I did buy my first art exhibit poster and a few books on impressionism and post-impressionist work.

We then went for some burgers at a gourmet burger place in the Marina. I had chicken with cheese and pesto on sourdough bread. Then we went to Kara'sCupcakes.  Oh man why why.....why do cupcakes find me ? Don't cupcakes know I need to lose weight ? I swear on vacation I should just drink protein shakes the entire time !  I wonder if I can actually do that ?   Well, I think its been exciting for me over the past month. I have been to London, Paris, the opera, and now this exhibit. What even better is everything has been free !! I very much appreciate that !  What else is going on ? My new 4iphone arrives tomorrow !! Very excited about that. It's better than dealing with the cracked one that I have been carrying around for years.  Oh still scared and sad about moving to Georgia. Hope Georgia can handle the Gretchie Love !!!

You just reminded me... I bought admission vouchers at Costco to see the Birth of Impressionism a few months ago. And then we never got around to going! After reading your post, now I'm anxious to use those vouchers for the new exhibit. Although I agree... seeing it in Paris would be even better!
