Excellent band...now if I only spoke Portuguese
Spent the evening dinner with my friends from High School and a couple from Portugal at La Pupusa house in Livemore. They serve Salvadoran food...pretty good. Then we went to the Bankhead theater and saw Deolinda. They are really big in Portugal. What I like about this band is their story. Three musicians and the singer...and she was fabulous. I wish that I spoke Portuguese because I would have loved it even more. Anyway, this lady sings stories or songs in a persona. She is a lady in her 30's , single, and lives in an apartment with cats. She sings about her life. I just loved it...kinda reminds me of the opera. Her costume was adorable. Unfortunately, I got really emotional and had to leave early. Roxanne wasn't feeling great, and I was just about ready to cry. So we had to go, but if they came to town again I would definitely see them. I am going to get the CD. Before I go and learn any languages I need to learn Latin....then I have to find where I can take Portuguese classes.... |
